Topic: Recovering a Forgotten Password

I get much of my inspiration for computer club topics by visiting people here in the park.  And when I see something more than once in a week, well, it means that I probably should share a solution to a common problem.

Such it is with recovering passwords.  Especially your email passwords.  And recently I’ve had the displeasure of seeing a few folks here in the park lose access to their much-beloved email addresses – all for lack of a decent recovery option.

All email providers like Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook/MSN/Hotmail etc., have proven methods for recovering your password.  You can mistakenly let these recovery methods get out of date so they don’t work.  So what am I talking about?  I’m talking about your cell number, alternate email address, answers to secret questions etc.  At the meeting I’ll explain how this works in a little more detail (of course) and show you exactly how to give your Gmail/Yahoo/Outlook account a quick checkup.

Remember the meeting is NOT this Friday January 29.
