I’ve talked to many people here in the Village about avoiding online scams.  But the reality is that it never happened to me.  Now that’s changed.  Almost.  Cindy and I got *real* close to handing a stranger $7800 until we (well me actually) wised up and did a little sleuthing to figure out the scam in all it’s complexities, redirections, and confusions.

While it was fun for me to prove something certainly was too good to be true I know things about the internet that most people don’t – and I used *ALL* of them to proved that what we were trying to buy was a fake.

If you want to be amazed at the effort people will go to fleece you out of money then come to the meeting and be amazed.
