Passwords Bloody Passwords

Computer Web Signin User SecurityThis month’s presentation is about a subject near and dear to my heart.

While researching material I for this topic learned a lot. And I thought I already knew a lot. Well, it turns out that while my management strategy for passwords was sound, the actual passwords I was using were kinda crappy. Weak. Easy to guess. What I *thought* was a good password wasn’t very good at all.

When you come to the presentation you’ll learn a whole bunch about passwords and how to feel confident about using the ones you have. If you can’t make it you can view the presentation here.   Passwords Bloody Passwords

For you snow birds here are the Cliff Notes version:

  1. It’s OK to write your passwords down on a hidden piece of paper. But not your Rolodex!
  2. It’s OK to use a PC application for managing your passwords. Like LastPass
  3. You can check out how strong your password really is by going to this website

You all know I get pretty passionate about this computer stuff.  And this topic is extra special to me.  Like being 17 and dating Sophia Loren in her prime.  Yea that kind of special.
